FirstRand is recruiting a Data Privacy Specialist to strengthen its Privacy CoE. The role focuses on privacy operations, governance, PAIA/POPIA alignment and risk management across information systems and AI initiatives.

You will draft and harmonise privacy documents, assess privacy risks in designs, and collaborate with legal, security, and product teams to embed PdD principles globally.

Qualifications

• Minimum: LLB, B.Com LLB, or Risk Management.
• 4–5 years in Data Privacy Programme Management or related fields.
• Working knowledge of PAIA and POPIA and their practical application.
• Exposure to privacy issues related to AI, data analytics, or other emerging technologies is advantageous.

Responsabilités

• Represent the CoE and provide SME privacy expertise for Information Governance, Data Privacy and Protection Risk Frameworks, PAIA, and industry engagements.
• Support evolution of privacy programs globally in alignment with international frameworks and best practices.
• Draft, review, maintain, and harmonise privacy documentation, notices, guidance, and training materials.
• Identify and assess privacy risks in technical designs and contribute to privacy-enhancing features and fixes.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure mitigation plans and embed privacy-by-design principles across development and deployment of AI and analytics.
