Job summary

Tenth Revolution Group in Johannesburg seeks a Data Engineer to design, build, and optimise scalable data pipelines and platforms across industries. You will enable advanced analytics, reporting, machine learning, and BI capabilities on modern cloud platforms.

You will design robust ETL/ELT processes, build data warehouses and data lakes, ensure data governance, and collaborate with analysts, scientists, and engineers to deliver data solutions in an agile environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in data engineering or related field.
• Proficiency in Python or Scala.
• Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Knowledge of data warehouses and dimensional modelling.
• Familiarity with DevOps and source control.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes.
• Build and optimise scalable data platforms for large data volumes.
• Integrate data from multiple internal and external sources.
• Develop data models, warehouses, and data lakes.
• Ensure data quality, security, and governance across the data ecosystem.
• Collaborate with analysts, data scientists, engineers, and stakeholders.
• Automate data ingestion, transformation, and orchestration.
• Monitor and improve data platform performance and reliability.
• Contribute to cloud migration and modernisation initiatives.
• Support DataOps, CI/CD, and engineering standards.
