Job summary

The Tenth Revolution Group in Cape Town is seeking a Data Engineer to design, build, and optimise scalable data pipelines and platforms supporting analytics, reporting, and ML workflows. You will work on modern cloud platforms and contribute to data modelling, governance, and dataOps practices.

Collaboration with Data Analysts, Data Scientists, and Software Engineers across agile teams is expected, with hybrid/remote opportunities.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in Data Engineering or related field.
• Proficiency in Python, Scala, or similar programming languages.
• Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
• Strong understanding of data warehousing and dimensional modelling.
• Experience working with large datasets in enterprise environments.
• Knowledge of source control and DevOps practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes.
• Build and optimise scalable data platforms for large data volumes.
• Integrate data from multiple internal and external sources.
• Develop and maintain data models, data warehouses, and data lakes.
• Ensure data quality, governance, and security across the ecosystem.
• Collaborate with analysts, scientists, and engineers to deliver data solutions.
• Automate data ingestion, transformation, and orchestration processes.
• Monitor and improve data platform performance and reliability.
• Support cloud migration and modernisation initiatives.
• Implement DataOps, CI/CD, and data engineering standards.
