Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Senior Professional Architect (Data Centre) in Gauteng to lead architectural design and infrastructure planning. The role requires SACAP-registered Architects and a strong background in data centre projects, BIM coordination, and multi-disciplinary collaboration.

The position offers hybrid work with offices in Pretoria and surrounding areas. You will mentor staff, engage clients, and drive value engineering while ensuring sustainable, compliant designs throughout all project

Qualifications

• B.Arch or BSc Architecture degree.
• Professional SACAP registration required.

Responsibilities

• Lead architectural design and data centre infrastructure planning, ensuring design brief compliance and accuracy.
• Coordinate design across disciplines to ensure seamless integration.
• Design coordination with engineering and cross-disciplinary teams to resolve conflicts.
• Oversee design delivery with compliance to briefs and budgets across project phases.
• Mentor junior staff and manage project team performance.
• Engage clients and manage stakeholder expectations through regular communication.
• Apply value engineering to deliver cost-effective solutions without compromising design integrity.
• Incorporate sustainability and energy efficiency in data centre designs.
• Conduct risk assessments and support mitigation planning for projects.
• Manage project budgets and resource allocation throughout delivery.
