Job summary

X, bigly labs in Johannesburg is seeking a seasoned Data Architect to design enterprise data architectures and guide DAMA-DMBOK and TOGAF-aligned solutions across the business. You will lead data governance and build scalable platforms that empower analytics and AI initiatives.

You will collaborate with engineers and data modellers to ensure secure, interoperable data exchanges while aligning data strategy with organisational goals in a dynamic healthcare-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in CS/IS/Data Eng or related field.
• 6+ years in data architecture/engineering/enterprise data management.
• TOGAF 10 architecture framework certification or strong working knowledge.
• Proven experience in governing enterprise data architecture and applying DAMA principles.
• Experience building and governing modern data platforms for data science and AI workloads.

Responsibilities

• Design enterprise-wide data architecture using DAMA principles.
• Collaborate with engineers and modellers to support analytics, ML, and AI use cases.
• Define data flows, interfaces and interoperability standards for seamless data exchange.
• Engage with business and technical teams through reviews, sessions, and workshops.
• Document architecture decisions and data flows in version-controlled repositories.
