Mentor Talent Acquisition in South Africa leads a data-driven data landscape project for an Irish retail operation. You join at the start of a three-year programme, working fully remotely from South Africa to map, profile and cleanse data sources, and help design a unified reporting layer that enables end-to-end visibility across retail, supply chain and operations.

The role requires strong SQL, data profiling, and experience delivering BI-ready data.

Qualifikationen

• 5+ years as a Data Analyst across multiple source systems

• BI tool production standard – Power BI, Tableau or Qlik
• Comfortable building without an existing data model, warehouse or reporting layer
• Track record of working well in a distributed team across countries and functions
• Based in South Africa with the right to work here

We're an Irish retail business starting an end-to-end process optimisation and data & technology modernisation programme. Over the next three years we'll map how we actually operate across retail, supply chain and business operations, fix what's broken in the data underneath it, and build the data warehouse and reporting layer that finally lets us see the whole business at once.

You'd join at the start, as part of the core programme team, and stay for the journey. Fully remote from South Africa.

WHAT YOU'D DO

• Map the current data landscape and every source system, side by side with the Business Analysts
• Profile every source properly – what exists, who owns it, how complete and accurate it actually is – measured from the data itself, not from what people believe is true
• Start fixing it: data cleansing and integrity work at source, rather than patched downstream
• Feed what you find back into the process design – a field that's half populated is a capture problem, not just a reporting gap
• Provide a limited, bounded ad hoc analysis service to the business while discovery runs
• Quantify the improvement opportunities so the business case rests on measured numbers, not estimates
• Work with the project team through the data warehouse build, AI automation work and new reporting – modelling, source-to-target validation, testing, and reporting the business will actually use

WHAT YOU'D BRING

• 5+ years as a Data Analyst across multiple source systems, not inside a single application
• Strong SQL – you profile data yourself rather than waiting for someone to send you an extract
• Real data profiling and quality assessment experience, and the judgement to say plainly what a source can and cannot support
• Data cleansing and remediation, including getting things fixed at source
• A BI tool to production standard – Power BI, Tableau, Qlik or equivalent
• Comfortable building without an existing data model, warehouse or reporting layer
• A track record of working well in a distributed team, across countries and functions
• Based in South Africa with the right to work here
