Job summary

AES Global in Cape Town seeks a Data Analyst to join our team and partner with stakeholders to translate data into actionable insights. You will build dashboards in Tableau/Power BI/QlikView, perform statistical analysis, and deliver regular KPI reports.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in a related field, at least 3 years of data experience, and strong SQL with advanced Excel skills. This hybrid role requires some office days in Cape Town.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, informatics, math or a related field.
• At least 3 years’ experience as a data analyst or similar role.
• Proficient in Tableau, Power BI, QlikView, or SSRS.
• Strong SQL (or PostgreSQL) and advanced Excel.

We’re working with an established travel business, and they’re looking for a Data Analyst to partner with the business — collecting, analysing and interpreting data to provide insights that support strategic decisions.

What you’ll do

• Partner with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and deliver data products
• Collaborate across the business to tailor data-driven solutions within a standardised framework
• Explore datasets with statistical and analytical techniques to uncover patterns, trends and anomalies
• Build interactive dashboards and reports (e.g. Tableau, Power BI or QlikView)
• Generate regular reporting on KPIs and key metrics
• Translate findings into actionable insights, and run ad-hoc analysis for time-sensitive decisions

What you’ll bring

• A bachelor’s degree in Business, Informatics / Information Systems, Mathematics / Statistics or a related field
• At least 3 years’ experience in a data-analyst or similar role
• Proficiency in Tableau, Microsoft SSRS, Power BI or QlikView (or similar)
• Strong SQL (or PostgreSQL / another query language), and advanced Excel

Working model
