Placements24 is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer with a strong background in dams and hydraulic structures to join our Randburg team. You will design, assess, and manage dam projects, conduct hydrological analyses, and contribute to safe water infrastructure solutions.

The role requires 8+ years of experience, Pr Eng registration, and proficiency with dam analysis software. A hybrid work setup is offered with opportunities for field involvement on-site.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Water Resources or Structural Engineering.
• Pr Eng registration with ECSA is essential.
• Minimum 8 years of specialized experience in dam design, analysis and assessment.

Responsibilities

• Perform design, analysis, and assessment of dams (concrete, earth-fill) and related structures.
• Conduct hydrological studies for flood analysis, spillway design, and outlet works.
• Undertake dam safety evaluations, risk assessments, and remediation recommendations.
• Develop detailed engineering designs, drawings, and specifications for dam projects.
• Prepare technical reports including design, inspection, and feasibility studies.
• Collaborate with geologists and other specialists on multifaceted projects.
• Ensure compliance with national dam safety regulations and standards.
• Provide technical support during construction and rehabilitation phases.
• Assist in developing asset management plans for dam infrastructure.
