Job summary

Röhlig & Co in Linbro Park, JHB, is seeking a Customs Specialist to oversee customs documentation and compliance. The role requires a Grade 12 certificate and a 1-year customs qualification, with 10 years of import experience and at least 5 years in a framing entry role.

You will manage refunds/drawbacks, acquittal processes, INCO Terms, and tariff calculations, ensuring accuracy and timely processing in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 certificate or equivalent required.
• 1-year customs-related qualification at NQF level 3.
• Minimum 10 years import/customs experience in the Clearing and Forwarding industry.
• At least 5 years in a customs framing entry capacity.
• Solid knowledge of refunds/drawback procedures and adjustments.
• Understanding of acquittal processes and related documentation.
• Familiarity with INCO Terms and depot/carrier conditions of trade.
• Knowledge of Customs and Excise Act and tariff principles.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Attention to accuracy and ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Audit products against customs and statutory requirements.
• Update Harmonised Customs Tariff and related reference books.
• Ensure compliance with the quality management system.
