Job summary

Röhlig & Co seeks an experienced Customs Specialist based at our Linbro Park head office in JHB to handle border compliance and document processing. The role requires detailed knowledge of customs processes, tariff updates and audit readiness within a demanding freight environment.

You will need a strong track record in clearing and forwarding, along with proficiency in duty calculations, incoterms and regulatory reporting.

Qualifications

• 10 years import/customs experience in Clearing & Forwarding industry.
• ≥5 years in a customs framing entry capacity.
• Knowledge of refunds/drawback procedures and adjustments.
• Understanding of acquittal process.
• Knowledge of INCO terms, carrier & depot conditions of trade.
• Principles of Duty calculation and tariffing.
• National currencies and international codes.
• Knowledge of tariffing

Responsibilities

• Processing of customs and other statutory body documents required for customs.
• Audit products against customs and other statutory body requirements.
• Update Harmonised Customs Tariff and related books.
• Comply with the requirements of the quality management system.
