Job summary

Weaver Fintech is seeking a Senior Credit Risk & Decision Scientist in Cape Town to turn fragmented data into profitable lending decisions across BNPL and retail loan products. You will lead data consolidation, build a unified decision-ready customer view and design end-to-end origination rules.

The role focuses on modelling lifecycle for scorecards, validating models with rigorous testing, and partnering with Data Engineering to productionise pipelines.

Qualifications

• Experience building credit risk scorecards and risk models across BNPL and retail lending.
• Ability to integrate bureau, internal and alternative data sources into a single decision view.
• Experience with model lifecycle, validation, governance and audit readiness.

Responsibilities

• Own data optimisation across silos and build a consolidated credit data mart/feature store.
• Develop, validate, deploy and monitor application, behavioural, affordability and collections scorecards.
• Design and optimise the end-to-end origination decision engine including policy rules and fraud screening.
• Lead model governance, documentation and stakeholder presentations for risk committees.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering to productionise data pipelines and ensure consistent risk metrics.
