Job summary

MTN Roodepoort invites an experienced Credit Risk Analytics leader to oversee IFRS9 modelling for the post-paid credit lifecycle, driving accuracy and audit readiness. You will manage profitability and risk appetite analysis, lead budgeting and resource optimisation, and guide the team on regulatory compliance and data governance.

You will partner with finance, risk and operations, shaping credit risk strategies, pricing, and performance reporting while building a strong, capable analytics team

Qualifications

• Extensive IFRS9 provisions modelling experience.
• Strong knowledge of the IFRS 9 standard and its regulatory implications.
• Proven analytical, problem-solving and data interpretation abilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint; able to present findings clearly.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical soundness and accuracy of IFRS9 modelling across the credit risk portfolio.
• Monitor provisions and model parameters; oversee monthly provision runs and recalibrations.
• Coordinate submissions to external audit and ensure compliance with reporting timelines.
• Analyze profitability models and risk appetite to balance risk and reward per MTN strategy.
• Forecast, plan and review the budget for the business unit; optimise resources and costs.
• Maintain records strategy for provisions, profitability and risk appetite; ensure retention per regulations.
