Job summary

Hire Resolve's client, a mining company in Gauteng, seeks a Senior Cost Control Professional to monitor capital expenditure and enhance cost governance.

Responsibilities include budgeting, forecasting, cost reporting, and reconciliations across multiple projects, with at least 8 years in cost control and 3 years supervisory experience.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 qualification is required.
• Degree in Cost and Management Accounting, Finance, Accounting or equivalent.
• Professional cost control/finance/accounting or project management certification (AACE, CIMA, ACCA, PMP).
• Minimum 8 years’ experience in capital-project cost control in multi-project environments.
• Minimum 3 years’ supervisory experience.
• Experience in budgeting, forecasting, project setup and capital accounting reconciliation.
• Valid Driver’s Licence.

• Strengthen governance with updated policies and consistent controls.
• Develop and maintain cost procedures, reporting systems, codes and work breakdown structures.
• Manage budgets, actuals, commitments, accruals, cash flow and contingencies.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual cost reports and forecasts.
• Oversee reconciliations to ensure accurate project cost information.
• Reconcile procurement commitments, POs, contract values and variations against cost reports.

Hire Resolve's Client is currently looking for an experienced Senior Cost Control Professional to join their mining company based in Gauteng.You will be responsible for monitoring capital project expenditure, strengthening cost control governance, managing budgets and forecasts, overseeing cost reconciliations and ensuring accurate project cost reporting.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor capital expenditure against approved budgets, project plans and financial controls.
• Strengthen the cost control framework through clear governance, updated policies and consistent application of approved controls.
• Develop and maintain cost procedures, reporting systems, workflows, cost codes, control accounts, work breakdown structures and integrated codes of accounts.
• Manage budgets, actual costs, commitments, accruals, cash flow, contingency use and budget movements within approved project parameters.
• Prepare and issue monthly, quarterly and annual capital cost reports and forecasts within agreed timeframes.
• Oversee monthly system, finance and capital accounting reconciliations to ensure complete, accurate and reliable project cost information.
• Reconcile procurement commitments, purchase orders, contract values and approved variations against project cost reports.

Requirements:

• Grade 12
• Degree in Cost and Management Accounting, Finance, Accounting or equivalent
• A relevant professional certification in cost control, finance, accounting or project management (AACE, CIMA, ACCA, PMP)
• Minimum 8 years’ experience in capital-project cost control within a multi-project or portfolio environment
• Minimum 3 years' in a supervisory role
• Experience in project setup, budgeting, forecasting and capital accounting reconciliation
• Valid Driver's License
