Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in cosmetic formulation and product development.
• Proven track record of developing and launching cosmetic products.
• Extensive knowledge of cosmetic ingredients, formulation techniques, and product stability.
• Familiar with FDA, SABS regulations and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Formulate and develop innovative cosmetic and skincare products, including creams, lotions, serums, makeup, and haircare.
• Conduct stability, compatibility, and efficacy testing of new formulations.
• Research and identify new ingredients, technologies, and market trends to drive product innovation.
• Scale up laboratory formulations to pilot and production levels, ensuring consistency and quality.
• Collaborate with marketing, regulatory affairs, and manufacturing throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Prepare and maintain detailed laboratory notebooks, formulation records, and technical documentation.
• Ensure all product development activities comply with relevant industry regulations and standards.
• Troubleshoot formulation challenges and provide technical support to manufacturing and QA teams.
• Evaluate competitive products and benchmark against market leaders.
• Present formulation concepts and development progress to stakeholders.
