Job summary

City of Cape Town invites applications for a Corporate Services Facilities Management role focusing on coordinating capital and OPEX programmes within Infrastructure Planning. You will oversee financial and project management activities, ensure MFMA-compliant processes, and support tendering and contract management with cross-functional teams.

The ideal candidate has a relevant 3-year qualification, SACPCMP registration, 5–8 years of experience, and a valid Code B driver’s licence.

Qualifications

• Relevant 3-year tertiary qualification in project management, building management or related build environment.
• Registration with SACPCMP as a Professional Construction Project Manager.
• 5-8 years relevant experience.
• Knowledge and understanding of the Built Environment and Project Management functions.
• Code B (08) driver’s licence.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating Capital and OPEX programmes and projects within the Infrastructure Planning branch, providing effective financial, administrative, logistical and project management support in accordance with MFMA requirements
• Monitoring expenditure trends across capital and OPEX projects and ensure adequate budget provision throughout project stages 1 to 6
• Performing contract management functions in line with the relevant City guidelines and directives
• Coordinate and manage multi-dimensional project components, including budget control, to achieve tight delivery timeframes on project all project stages
• Providing clear tender specifications in conjunctions with Tenders and contracts unit
• Maintaining records of agreements/approvals in respect of transversal tender use applications
• Managing subordinate staff
• Ensuring compliance all City policies and procedures.
• Co-ordinate stakeholder engagement
