Job summary

WBHO Construction (Pty) Ltd in Port Elizabeth, SA, seeks a Construction Project Controls Engineer to drive planning, monitoring and reporting for multi‑million‑rand projects. You will collaborate with project managers, site engineers and finance to develop robust control systems and deliver insights.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering or Construction Management with 5–7 years in project controls; PMP/PMI-ACP credentials are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Minimum a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• 5–7 years of hands-on experience in project controls.
• PMP/PMI-ACP or a recognized Project Controls qualification is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 or MS Project.
• Prepare cost forecasts, variance analyses, and earned value reports for senior management.
• Monitor project progress against baseline plans and identify potential risks or delays.
• Coordinate with site teams to collect data on labor, materials, and equipment usage.
• Implement and enforce project control procedures, ensuring compliance with WBHO standards.
• Support the preparation of monthly and quarterly performance dashboards for stakeholders.
• Assist in the development of mitigation strategies to address schedule slippages or cost overruns.
