Job summary

TWK Agri in Pretoria seeks a Compliance Officer within the Company Secretary, Legal & Compliance division to provide independent, risk-based compliance oversight across the TWK Insurance Group's entities. The role involves advising senior management, translating regulations into practical controls, and coordinating governance across a complex, multi-entity environment.

The ideal candidate will have 10+ years in financial services compliance, FSCA familiarity, strong analytical and communication

Qualifications

• Matric / Grade 12.
• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Accounting, Risk Management, Compliance or a closely related discipline that appears on the FSCA's applicable list of recognised qualifications for Compliance Officers
• Postgraduate qualification advantageous
• At least 10 years' relevant compliance experience in the financial services industry, with 5 years in a senior/oversight role
• FSCA approval or demonstrable experience relating to Category IV financial services providers (advantageous)
• Strong working knowledge of FAIS Act, FICA, POPIA, FSRA, applicable insurance legislation and FSCA directives
• Knowledge of AML, CTF, KYC, Fit and Proper requirements and TCF principles
• Experience designing and implementing risk-based compliance frameworks and reporting processes
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to influence senior stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Provide senior-level compliance oversight and advice on legislation and regulation including FAIS Act, FICA, POPIA, and FSCA directives
• Monitor regulatory developments and update internal policies and controls
• Operationalise Regulatory Universe and coordinate compliance plans across TWK Insurance Group
• Coordinate risk-based compliance assessments and manage findings with due dates and evidence
• Oversee governance across the financial-services structure and licences
• Lead development and continuous improvement of risk-based compliance frameworks and controls
• Conduct risk assessments, monitoring reviews and audits on client onboarding, disclosures and TCF
• Monitor Fit and Proper requirements for Representatives and Key Individuals
• Oversee AML/CTF/KYC compliance and regulatory reporting to FSCA and FIC
