Job summary

Black Pen Recruitment is partnering with a fintech client in Cape Town to recruit a Compliance Officer for a frontier stablecoin-powered money-movement platform. You will shape AML/CFT controls, KYB/KYC workflows, and Travel Rule across multiple jurisdictions while coordinating with Product, Legal, and licensed partners.

You will operate at the intersection of traditional payments and crypto infrastructure, building scalable processes, SOPs, and monitoring frameworks.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of compliance operations experience in regulated financial services.
• Hands-on AML/CFT program implementation; wrote SOPs, configured monitoring tools, filed SARs.
• Working knowledge of FSCA CASP regulation or equivalent crypto regulatory regime with SA context.
• Experience with transaction monitoring in crypto/stablecoin or cross-border payments.
• Familiarity with Travel Rule requirements and FATF guidance for VASPs.
• Experience conducting KYB/EDD reviews on multi-jurisdiction clients, complex structures.
• Strong written communication for regulators, partners, and auditors.

Responsibilities

• Own Merchant Onboarding Compliance and KYB/KYC operations across jurisdictions.
• Manage CASP FICA compliance for SA, CASP CASP design and documentation, and audit readiness.
• Lead Travel Rule implementation, data transmission, and counterparty verification across VASP transfers.
• Design and operate transaction monitoring for multi-rail stablecoin and fiat flows; investigate alerts and file SARs when appropriate.
• Own KYB/AML Programme document and Operational Playbook; maintain regulatory matrix and update with regulatory changes.
• Oversee payments and financial crime controls, including onboarding of high-risk merchants and coordination with FIUs.
