Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Commercial Building Hygiene and Sanitation Supervisor to oversee cleaning and sanitation for multiple Upington properties. You will lead cleaning staff, coordinate with vendors, conduct inspections, and implement best practices to ensure safe, healthy facilities for tenants and visitors.

The role requires 3+ years in a supervisory cleaning or facilities context, strong leadership, and excellent organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in commercial cleaning, facilities management or sanitation services.
• Proven experience managing cleaning teams and/or third-party vendors.
• Solid knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment, techniques, and sanitation best practices.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations for commercial buildings.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, train, and schedule cleaning staff and contractors to ensure efficient service delivery.
• Develop and implement detailed cleaning and sanitation plans for all assigned commercial buildings.
• Conduct regular inspections of building interiors, exteriors, common areas, and restrooms to ensure high cleanliness standards.
• Monitor and manage inventory of cleaning supplies, equipment, and consumables.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Respond promptly to tenant concerns regarding cleaning and sanitation services.
• Oversee proper use and maintenance of cleaning equipment and machinery.
• Maintain accurate records of cleaning activities, staff performance, and supply usage.
• Implement sustainable cleaning practices and waste management strategies.
• Collaborate with property managers and maintenance teams to address facility hygiene issues.
