Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Senior Software Architect to define the technical vision and lead design for cloud-based services in a hybrid East London setup. You will work with engineering and product teams to ensure scalable, secure, and high-performance platforms that support a global user base.

The role requires deep cloud expertise across AWS/Azure/GCP, microservices, and CI/CD, with a focus on leadership, architecture governance, and mentoring junior engineers in a fast-growing tech environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of software development experience with at least 5 years in a software architecture role.
• Experience designing and implementing solutions on major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Proven expertise in microservices architecture, containerization, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, databases (SQL/NoSQL), and networking concepts.
• Experience with Java, Python, Go, and cloud environments.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
• Strong leadership and communication abilities, with experience presenting technical strategies to stakeholders.
• Familiarity with security best practices in cloud environments.
• Experience working in an Agile development environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and oversee the implementation of scalable, secure cloud-native architectures.
• Define architectural standards and best practices for cloud services.
• Collaborate with engineering leads and product managers to translate requirements into solutions.
• Evaluate and select appropriate cloud technologies, services, and tools.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams.
• Identify and mitigate architectural risks and ensure system resilience.
• Develop and maintain architectural documentation.
• Conduct code reviews and performance tuning for optimal system performance.
