Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Construction Foreman for Upington, Northern Cape. You will lead on-site civil works, supervise labour and subcontractors, enforce safety, and ensure schedules and quality targets are met.

The role requires a trade qualification and 7+ years of supervisory civil construction experience, with strong leadership and reading drawings. Upington experience is advantageous, with a focus on safe, productive site management.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification or extensive supervisory civil construction experience.
• Minimum 7 years as foreman/supervisor on civil sites.
• Proven ability to supervise labour and manage site operations.
• Strong knowledge of civil construction methods, materials, and equipment.
• Excellent health, safety knowledge and leadership skills; reading drawings.
• Willingness to work in demanding Northern Cape conditions; Upington experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct daily on-site construction activities for civil works projects.
• Ensure all work is performed in accordance with project plans, specifications, and safety regulations.
• Manage and coordinate the work of site laborers, operators, and subcontractors.
• Maintain a safe working environment and enforce all health and safety policies on site.
• Monitor work progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions.
• Manage the allocation and efficient use of tools, equipment, and materials on site.
• Conduct daily toolbox talks and ensure compliance with safety procedures.
• Report on daily progress, site conditions, and any incidents or challenges.
• Ensure quality control of all executed works.
