City of Cape Town is seeking a senior civil engineer with a B.Eng or equivalent and Pr. Eng. registration.

The role focuses on delivering professional civil engineering expertise for complex developments, leading pre-consultations, and coordinating multi-disciplinary inputs to ensure compliance with municipal standards. The position requires 8–10 years post-registration experience and a commitment to mentorship, technical leadership, and quality assurance in infrastructure planning and

Competenze

Four-year B.Eng or Bachelor of Structural/Fire Engineering.
8–10 years of post-registration engineering and fire-safety design experience.
Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng.) registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa.

Mansioni

Provide professional civil engineering expertise and QA for complex development, land-use and building applications, ensuring municipal standards compliance.
Lead pre-consultation engagements with developers and stakeholders to identify constraints and promote innovative engineering solutions.
Coordinate inputs from multiple disciplines and departments to resolve conflicts and plan infrastructure and service capacity requirements.
Provide technical leadership, mentorship and guidance to engineers and staff to drive technical excellence and capability development.
Develop and maintain technical assessment frameworks and QA procedures to improve consistency and effectiveness.
