Senior Civil Engineer
Location: Centurion, Gauteng (Office-Based)

Remuneration: R60 000 – R80 000 pm CTC, negotiable, based on experience

Their projects span the mining, metallurgical, nuclear, energy and industrial sectors, with specialist expertise in process plants, off-gas systems, waste energy recovery and sustainable engineering solutions.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer specialising in Structural Engineering to lead complex engineering projects, oversee structural design and construction activities, and provide technical leadership within the Civil & Structural Engineering Department.
This senior position combines advanced structural design, project management, construction oversight, client engagement and mentoring, offering an opportunity to contribute to challenging local and international engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead structural engineering studies, designs and technical deliverables across multiple projects.
• Perform and oversee structural analysis, calculations, drawings and specifications in accordance with applicable engineering codes and standards.
• Manage project planning, budgets, technical risks and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Provide technical leadership during construction, site inspections and contractor engagements.
• Review and approve structural designs and calculations within authorised delegation limits.
• Ensure compliance with engineering quality standards, safety requirements and regulatory obligations.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers, technologists and draughtsmen.
• Maintain strong client relationships and contribute to technical proposals and business development.
• Drive continuous improvement in engineering practices, design standards and technologies.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Professional registration with ECSA is essential (Pr Eng).
• Minimum 8 years' relevant structural engineering experience.
• Proven experience leading complex structural engineering projects and multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong knowledge of structural design principles, engineering codes and construction practices.
• Excellent project management, communication and leadership skills.
• Valid driver's licence.
