Job summary

C3R Centurion, Gauteng-based engineering firm, is seeking a Senior Civil Engineering Technologist specialized in Structural Engineering to lead complex projects, oversee design and construction activities within the Civil & Structural Engineering Department, and provide technical leadership for local and international assignments.

The role blends hands-on structural design, project management, client engagement and mentoring of junior engineers and draughtsmen, with emphasis on quality, safety

Qualifications

• Certificate or Diploma in Civil Engineering (A degree is not required).
• Professional registration with ECSA is essential.
• Minimum 8 years' relevant structural engineering experience.
• Proven experience leading complex structural engineering projects and multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong knowledge of structural design principles, engineering codes and construction practices.
• Excellent project management, communication and leadership skills.
• Valid driver’s licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural engineering studies, designs and technical deliverables across multiple projects.
• Perform and oversee structural analysis, calculations, drawings and specifications in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
• Manage project planning, budgets, technical risks and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Provide technical leadership during construction, site inspections and contractor engagements.
• Review and approve structural designs and calculations within authorised delegation limits.
• Ensure compliance with engineering quality standards, safety requirements and regulatory obligations.
• Mentor junior engineers, technologists and draughtsmen.
• Maintain strong client relationships and contribute to technical proposals and business development.
• Drive continuous improvement in engineering practices, design tools and technologies.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineering Technologist specialising in Structural Engineering to lead complex engineering projects, oversee structural design and construction activities, and provide technical leadership within the Civil & Structural Engineering Department.
