About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Chemical Engineer to provide essential production support at their facility in Randburg . This role is critical for ensuring the continuous, safe, and efficient operation of our chemical manufacturing processes. You will leverage your extensive knowledge of chemical engineering principles to troubleshoot operational issues, optimize process parameters, and support plant personnel. This hybrid role allows for a balance between on-site engagement and remote work, offering flexibility while maintaining vital operational oversight. You will play a key role in maintaining high standards of production excellence and driving improvements in the Gauteng region.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert technical support to the production team, diagnosing and resolving process-related issues in real-time.
• Analyze process data to identify opportunities for improvement in efficiency, yield, and product quality.
• Implement process modifications and optimizations, ensuring they are conducted safely and effectively.
• Develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) and process documentation.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical training to plant operators.
• Collaborate with maintenance, quality control, and safety departments to ensure seamless plant operations.
• Participate in process hazard analyses (PHAs) and contribute to safety improvement initiatives.

Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering . Minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in chemical plant operations and production support. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure. In-depth knowledge of chemical unit operations and process control strategies. Experience with process simulation and data analysis software. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills. Ability to work effectively in a hybrid model, balancing on-site and remote responsibilities.
