Placements24 is seeking a Specialist Building Hygiene Technician to join our client in Centurion, Gauteng. The role focuses on advanced cleaning, chemical handling, and use of industrial cleaning equipment to maintain high safety and hygiene standards across commercial facilities.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of experience in cleaning operations, knowledge of COSHH, SDS, and safe chemical storage, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience as a Cleaning Technician in commercial/industrial settings.
• Experience with specialized cleaning equipment and chemicals.
• COSHH knowledge and the ability to read SDS and safety manuals.
• Strong attention to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform deep cleaning, disinfection, and sanitization of diverse building areas.
• Operate and maintain industrial cleaning equipment such as vacuums, scrubbers, washers and steamers.
• Safely handle, store and dispose of cleaning chemicals per SDS and protocols.
• Inspect facilities and identify hygiene risks and maintenance needs.
• Enforce hygiene protocols and safety regulations on site.
• Respond to emergency cleaning requests and spills promptly.
• Maintain records of cleaning activities, chemical usage, and equipment maintenance.
• Provide basic training to junior staff on techniques and safety.
• Identify opportunities to improve cleaning efficiency and results.
• Ensure work meets high quality standards for Centurion sites.
