The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of experience in cleaning operations, knowledge of COSHH, SDS, and safe chemical storage, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience as a Cleaning Technician in commercial/industrial settings.
• Experience with specialized cleaning equipment and chemicals.
• COSHH knowledge and the ability to read SDS and safety manuals.
• Strong attention to safety and quality standards.

Responsabilités

• Perform deep cleaning, disinfection, and sanitization of diverse building areas.
• Operate and maintain industrial cleaning equipment such as vacuums, scrubbers, washers and steamers.
• Safely handle, store and dispose of cleaning chemicals per SDS and protocols.
• Inspect facilities and identify hygiene risks and maintenance needs.
• Enforce hygiene protocols and safety regulations on site.
• Respond to emergency cleaning requests and spills promptly.

About the Role

Our client, a premier provider of commercial property maintenance services, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Specialist Building Hygiene Technician to join their team in Centurion, Gauteng . Key Responsibilities

• Perform specialized cleaning tasks, including deep cleaning, disinfection, and sanitization of diverse building areas such as restrooms, kitchens, common areas, and high-traffic zones.
• Operate and maintain specialized cleaning equipment, including industrial vacuum cleaners, floor scrubbers, high-pressure washers, and steam cleaners.
• Safely handle, store, and dispose of a wide range of cleaning chemicals and solutions, adhering strictly to safety data sheets (SDS) and company protocols.
• Conduct routine inspections of facilities to identify potential hygiene risks, maintenance issues, or areas requiring immediate attention.
• Implement and enforce hygiene protocols, ensuring compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations.
• Respond promptly to emergency cleaning requests or spills, mitigating risks and restoring facilities to a safe state.
• Maintain accurate records of cleaning activities, chemical usage, equipment maintenance, and inventory levels.
• Provide basic training to junior cleaning staff on specialized techniques and safety procedures when required.
• Proactively identify opportunities to improve cleaning efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Cleaning Technician, preferably in a commercial or industrial setting.
• Proven experience with specialized cleaning equipment and a variety of cleaning chemicals.
• Solid understanding of health and safety regulations related to cleaning operations, including COSHH principles.
• Ability to read and interpret safety data sheets (SDS) and technical manuals.
