Job summary

Caterweb in Gauteng is seeking an experienced accountant to join our finance team. The role covers bank reconciliations, vendor and client reconciliations, payroll, fixed asset management, and monthly management accounts. You will ensure accurate postings, journals, and intercompany invoicing while maintaining high standards of integrity.

Ideal candidates have a BCom or Diploma in Finance, articles, and 3-5 years of accounting experience, with strong Pastel skills and a reliable work ethic.

Qualifications

• Requires a relevant accounting qualification and articles are advantageous.
• Experience in payroll and tax calculations is preferred.
• Strong numeracy and analytical skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist with bank processing and reconciliations.
• Handle client and supplier reconciliations and payments.
• Maintain fixed asset register and review expenses.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and journals.
• Assist with general ledger and posting journal entries.
• Support intercompany invoicing and tax calculations.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Assisting with bank processing and reconciliations
• Doing customer and supplier reconciliations
• Assisting with debit and credit returns
• Managing the fixed asset register
• Reviewing expenses
• Payroll commissions and attendance
• Assisting with timely bank paymentsPosting journal entries
• Client liaison
• Preparing checks for payments
• General ledger

• General accounting functions
• Preparing monthly management accounts
• Monthly tax calculations and reconciliations

To succeed in the role you will need

• A relevant Accounting Degree or Diploma
• Completed articles advantageous
• 3-5 years industry experience
• Excellent working knowledge of Pastel
• Any FAIS exposure would be an advantage
