Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Senior Smart Contract Engineer for a fully remote role. You will design, develop, test, and deploy secure on-chain contracts across Ethereum-compatible platforms, collaborating with a global team to translate complex requirements into robust Solidity, Vyper, or Rust code.

You will conduct security audits, implement cryptographic patterns, review code, and mentor junior engineers while staying current with DeFi standards and best practices.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of software development experience, with at least 3 years focused on smart contract development.
• Expertise in Solidity and the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM).
• Strong understanding of blockchain principles, DeFi, and token standards (ERC-20, ERC-721, etc.).
• Experience with smart contract development frameworks (e.g., Hardhat, Truffle, Foundry).
• Proficiency in unit testing and integration testing for smart contracts.
• Knowledge of common smart contract security vulnerabilities and mitigation techniques.
• Experience with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, adept at working in a remote environment.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement secure and efficient smart contracts on various blockchain platforms (e.g., Ethereum, Polygon, Solana).
• Write high-quality, well-tested, and maintainable smart contract code using languages like Solidity, Vyper, or Rust.
• Collaborate with product managers and other engineers to define smart contract requirements and architecture.
• Conduct rigorous code reviews and security audits to identify and mitigate potential vulnerabilities.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive test suites for smart contracts, ensuring robustness and reliability.
• Research and implement advanced cryptographic techniques and blockchain patterns.
• Contribute to the development of blockchain infrastructure and tooling.
• Stay current with the latest developments, best practices, and security considerations in the blockchain space.
• Mentor junior engineers and share knowledge within the team.
