Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Biologist to join its Genomics Research team in Welkom. This hybrid role focuses on exploring genomes, conducting advanced experiments, and analyzing large-scale data to advance disease understanding and diagnostic tool development.

You will collaborate with computational biologists, publish findings, maintain lab equipment, and ensure safety and quality standards. A PhD or Master's with at least four years of genomics research is required, along with experience

Qualifications

• PhD or Master's degree in Biology, Genetics, Genomics, or related field.
• Minimum 4 years of hands-on research experience in genomics or molecular biology.
• Proficiency in various NGS library preparation techniques and sequencing platforms.
• Experience with bioinformatics tools and software for genomic data analysis.
• Strong understanding of population genetics, epigenetics, or transcriptomics.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and written/verbal communication skills.
