Placements24 is seeking a Senior Geneticist to lead a dynamic research team in Pretoria. You will design studies, analyze complex genomic data, and guide the scientific strategy within a collaborative environment.

You will work on cutting-edge human genetics research, develop diagnostics and therapeutics insights, and communicate findings to both scientific and non-scientific audiences as part of a hybrid on-site/remote model.

Qualifications

• PhD in Genetics, Genomics, Molecular Biology, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant research experience with a strong publication record.
• Expertise in human genetics, molecular genetics, and population genetics.
• Proficiency with bioinformatics tools and databases for genomic data analysis.
• Experience with Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) technologies.

Responsibilities

• Design and conduct experiments to investigate gene function, regulation, and variation.
