Job summary

Faircape Health Institute, a division of the Faircape Group, seeks an experienced Biokineticist to join the development of a Longevity and Preventative Health Centre in the Western Cape. You will work with the Clinical Lead and a multidisciplinary team, using advanced assessment technologies and personalised exercise interventions to improve health outcomes.

Qualifications

• Qualified Biokineticist registered with HPCSA and CPD compliant.
• Experience in adult assessment and development of individualized exercise prescriptions.
• Strong knowledge of exercise physiology, prescription, functional assessment and chronic disease risk management.
• Ability to translate objective data into personalised interventions.
• Experience developing clinical protocols, assessment standards and progression criteria.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive biokinetic, physical performance and functional assessments across strength, cardiovascular fitness, mobility, balance, body composition, metabolic health and functional capacity.
• Utilise advanced strength and functional assessment technologies, including VALD and other technology-enabled equipment.
• Interpret objective assessment and performance data to identify physical limitations, risks and opportunities for improvement.
• Develop highly personalised exercise programmes based on assessment findings and patient goals.
• Establish measurable targets, monitor outcomes and conduct structured reassessments to guide progression.
• Provide appropriate exercise interventions for older adults and individuals with chronic disease risk factors or rehabilitation needs.
• Educate, guide and motivate patients around exercise, movement and sustainable behavioural change.
• Collaborate with medical practitioners, physiotherapists, dieticians and rehabilitation specialists.
• Contribute to development, testing and refinement of assessment protocols, exercise programmes and clinical guidelines.
• Identify opportunities to incorporate emerging assessment and exercise technologies into the service.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and outcome data.
• Ensure all assessments and interventions remain ethical, evidence-led and patient-centred.
