Placements24 is seeking a highly qualified Sports Scientist to join their Randburg performance center. You will work with athletes and coaching staff to optimize performance through scientific principles and data analysis.

This role involves physiological assessments, designing training and recovery programs, and advising on nutrition and injury prevention. The ideal candidate holds a Master’s or PhD and has at least three years working with elite athletes.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Sports Science, Exercise Physiology, Biomechanics, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years experience with elite athletes or teams.
• Proficiency in performance monitoring tools, data analysis software, and assessment technologies.
• Strong understanding of exercise physiology, training principles, and recovery.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., ASCA, BASES) desirable.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive physiological and biomechanical assessments of athletes.
• Develop and implement individualized training programs using data.
• Monitor workload, fatigue, and recovery strategies.
