Job summary

AECOM Durban is seeking a Senior BIM Modeller to assist design engineers in producing highways and road models and drawings for international and local projects.

You will develop 3D models and sketches in Civil 3D and OpenRoads, ensure high-quality outputs, participate in design coordination meetings, and collaborate with an international team under experienced engineers.

Qualifications

• Draughting certificate is required.
• NDip an advantage for the role.
• 8 years’ experience in BIM modelling or related field.
• Competence with AutoCAD and Civil 3D and/or MicroStation and OpenRoads.

Responsibilities

• Develop 3D models, drawings, sketches and diagrams with accuracy to design instructions under supervision.
• Ensure high-quality drawing outputs in Civil 3D and/or OpenRoads within project timelines.
• Collect and analyse information from disciplinary and interdisciplinary BIM models.
• Participate in design progress and coordination meetings.
• Contribute to efficiency improvements and information gathering under supervision.
• Create 3D models and final working drawings under supervision of an experienced engineer.

Job Description

Here is what you will be doing:

As a Senior BIM Modeller, you will be assisting the Design Engineers and the broader team in producing Highways/ Roads models and drawings for international and/or local projects.
Technical Excellence:

• Develops 3D models drawings, sketches, diagrams with accuracy to the design instruction under the supervision of an experienced Engineer (Civil 3D and/or OpenRoads).
• Ensures high-quality drawing outputs in Civil 3D and/or OpenRoads under project timelines and budget.
• When required, collects and analyses information from specific discipline and interdisciplinary project BIM models.
• Participates in design progress and coordination meetings.
• Actively seeks information, opportunities to participate and contribute, and develops efficiencies and effectiveness.
• Work will be a mixture of local and international work but likely predominantly international.
• Creates 3D models, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
• Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
• Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.
• Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision.
