Job summary

Recruiters of Distinction seeks highly experienced Process Engineers for a six-month contract within its Delivery function in Johannesburg. The role bridges business and technical requirements, producing build-ready process specifications, data mappings and acceptance tests for banking transformation projects.

Applicants should have 10+ years in business/process analysis, with strong BPMN 2.0, DMN and ISO 20022 expertise and a track record in governance and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or relevant qualification in Business Analysis, Information Systems, Finance, Accounting, IT, Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• At least 7 years’ experience in business analysis, process analysis or business process management; banking/payments/financial services preferred; 10+ years strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated expertise in BPMN 2.0, requirements gathering, business rules and decision modelling.
• Experience in data mapping, system transformation or migration, and acceptance testing.
• Understanding of payment processing, accounting entries, GL mappings and reconciliation.
• Exposure to ISO 20022 and DMN decision tables is advantageous.
• Business Analysis or Process Management certification is advantageous; ISO 20022, DMN or financial services training beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Process documentation: Document current and new technical and business processes with transparency and traceability.
• Process analysis and improvement: Identify inefficiencies and drive improvements to efficiency, client experience and service performance.
• BPMN 2.0 process models: Develop end-to-end current-state and target-state models.
• Business rules and decisions: Maintain a catalogue of rules and decisions with IDs, owners and sources.
• Accounting flows: Specify postings with debit/credit and GL mappings.
• Data mappings: Map payment fields to ISO 20022 messages and data model.
• Acceptance tests: Translate each rule into test inputs and expected results.
• Simplification log: Record behaviours to remove or change.
• Open questions: Maintain unresolved items with named owners.
