You will collaborate with product and frontend teams, design robust database schemas (SQL/NoSQL), implement security measures, and mentor junior engineers while shaping architectural decisions in a fast-growing tech environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of backend development experience.
• Proficiency in at least one server-side language (Python, Java, Go, or Node.js).
• Experience designing RESTful APIs and working with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and microservices.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Git is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills for a remote team.

About the Role

Our client, a rapidly scaling technology company, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Backend Engineer to join their thriving, fully remote team. This position is instrumental in developing and maintaining the robust server-side logic and APIs that power our client's cutting-edge platforms. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient backend services and APIs.
• Write high-quality, well-tested, and maintainable code using languages like Python, Java, Go, or Node.js.
• Collaborate with frontend developers, product managers, and other engineers to define and implement new features.
• Optimize applications for maximum speed, scalability, and reliability.
• Design and manage database schemas and operations (SQL and NoSQL).
• Implement security and data protection measures.
• Troubleshoot and debug backend systems, identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks.
• Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to team members.
• Contribute to architectural discussions and decisions.
• Mentor junior backend engineers and share best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional experience in backend development.
• Strong proficiency in at least one server-side programming language (e.g., Python, Java, Go, Node.js).
• Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs.
• Solid understanding of database technologies, both SQL (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB, Redis).
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and microservices architecture.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
• Knowledge of version control systems, particularly Git.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, essential for a remote team.
• Experience with message queues (e.g., RabbitMQ, Kafka) is advantageous.
