Job summary

IQbusiness South Africa is seeking an experienced Backend Developer to design and enhance scalable banking and payment platforms. You will work in a fintech environment, focusing on robust data engineering, ETL processes, and API-rich services.

Bring 5+ years of backend experience, strong Node.js and Java skills, and a deep understanding of SQL/NoSQL databases, RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and messaging with Kafka or RabbitMQ. CI/CD and DevOps practices will be integral to daily work.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend development experience
• Strong expertise in Node.js and Java
• Experience with data engineering, ETL processes, and database optimization
• Solid understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB)
• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs and GraphQL
• Familiarity with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar messaging platforms
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
