Job summary

BVNK is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join our Cards team. You will help build a seamless card issuing and transaction platform bridging crypto and fiat, enabling merchants to access funds quickly and securely.

You should have 5+ years of backend experience in FinTech, expert Java and Spring Boot skills, and a strong track record with APIs, microservices, and containerized deployments. This role offers hybrid work and global collaboration.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience as Backend Engineer in FinTech/payments.
• Expertise in Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience building APIs and microservices.
• Knowledge of card payments or transaction processing.
• Familiar with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Willing to participate in on-call rota.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement card platform features end-to-end - from tokenization to settlement.
• Build and maintain integrations with issuers and processors.
• Architect scalable, secure microservice systems with PCI considerations.
• Own features from inception to delivery, breaking work into deliverables.
• Drive cross-team initiatives and raise code quality via reviews.
• Mentor teammates and uphold engineering standards.
• Participate in on-call rotations as needed.
