Job summary

Salt is seeking a Senior B2B Copywriter to join a leading South African bank's business banking marketing team. You will partner with designers, marketers, product teams and business stakeholders to turn commercial challenges into clear, compelling communication for entrepreneurs and SMEs.

You won’t simply execute briefs; you’ll interrogate them, uncover the real business opportunity, and help shape the strategic and creative approach before the first line of copy is written.

Qualifications

• Senior copywriter with a strong B2B background.
• Solid understanding of the South African business landscape.
• Experience in financial services, banking or fintech.

Responsibilities

• Develop strategic and creative thinking for B2B campaigns.
• Write compelling copy across direct marketing (email, SMS, WhatsApp), paid media (Google, Meta, LinkedIn), social, print and digital.
• Turn complex banking and financial concepts into simple, relevant communication.
• Create long form content such as thought leadership, case studies and business storytelling, alongside short form performance copy.
• Adapt messaging for different business audiences, funnel stages and channels without losing the core idea.
• Present and defend strategic and creative thinking to stakeholders.
• Refine work using feedback, client insights and performance data.

We are supporting a leading bank in South Africa in its search for a Senior B2B Copywriter to join its business banking marketing team. If you know how to talk to business owners, think strategically before you write, and can make complex financial products feel simple and human, we'd love to hear from you.

About the role You'll partner with designers, marketers, product teams and business stakeholders to turn commercial challenges into clear, compelling communication for entrepreneurs, SMEs and established businesses. You won't simply execute briefs. You'll interrogate them, uncover the real business opportunity, and help shape the strategic and creative approach before the first line of copy is written. You'll also become a trusted custodian of the brand's voice for business audiences.

• Write compelling copy across direct marketing (email, SMS, WhatsApp), paid media (Google, Meta, LinkedIn), social, print and digital
• Turn complex banking and financial concepts into simple, relevant communication
• Create long form content such as thought leadership, case studies and business storytelling, alongside short form performance copy

What you\'ll bring

• Senior copywriting experience with a strong B2B background
• A solid understanding of the South African business landscape and how businesses make decisions
• Experience in financial services, banking or fintech (a strong advantage)
• The ability to move between big picture campaign thinking and detailed copy execution
• Confidence across both digital and traditional channels, including brand storytelling and performance copy
• A commercial mindset and genuine curiosity about South African businesses and entrepreneurs
• A portfolio showcasing B2B or financial services work
