Placements24 is seeking a Senior Avionics Software Engineer to join a fully remote development team. You will design, develop, and test embedded avionics software for safety-critical systems, following DO-178C and ARINC standards.

Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree and 7+ years in embedded avionics software; strong C/C++/Ada skills, RTOS expertise, and collaboration with systems and hardware teams from a home office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
• Master's degree is a plus.
• Minimum 7 years in embedded software for avionics.
• Proven DO-178C experience and safety-critical software lifecycle.
• Proficiency in C and C++, with embedded systems expertise.
• RTOS experience and avionics protocols knowledge (ARINC 429, ARINC 664/AFDX).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, implement, and test embedded software for avionics systems.
• Ensure compliance with DO-178C and safety standards.
• Collaborate with systems, hardware, and flight-test teams.
• Develop thorough unit, integration, and system tests.
• Participate in code reviews and documentation.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to process improvements.
• Stay updated on avionics advancements and regulatory changes.
