Qualifications

• Experience with avionic systems (flight control, navigation, comms, surveillance).
• Knowledge of ARINC 429, MIL-STD-1553, AFDX interfaces.
• Experience with DOORS, Cameo and simulation tools.

About the Role

Our client, a forward-thinking aerospace company based in Johannesburg, Gauteng , is seeking a highly experienced Senior Aviation Systems Integration Engineer. This hybrid role offers a dynamic work environment where you will contribute to the integration of complex avionic systems, ensuring seamless functionality and compliance with stringent aviation standards. You will be involved in the full lifecycle of system integration, from requirement definition and design to testing and validation. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of avionic systems architecture, hardware-software integration, and testing methodologies within the aerospace industry. This role demands strong analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse engineering teams in both on-site and remote capacities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the integration of complex avionic systems, ensuring compatibility and interoperability between various subsystems.
• Define system requirements, interface specifications, and integration strategies for avionic platforms.
• Develop and execute comprehensive integration test plans, procedures, and scenarios.

Requirements

• In-depth knowledge of hardware-software integration techniques and embedded systems.
• Familiarity with aerospace communication protocols (e.g., ARINC 429, MIL-STD-1553, AFDX).
• Experience with systems engineering tools (e.g., DOORS, Cameo) and simulation environments.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
