Job summary

Motorecuit in Gauteng is seeking an Automotive Workshop Foreman to lead a busy multi-franchise service department. You will support the Workshop Controller, coordinate workflow, supervise technicians, and ensure high-quality workmanship and safety compliance.

Responsibilities include allocating work, monitoring progress, coaching staff, and maintaining documentation. The role requires Red Seal and strong diagnostic skills, with a monthly salary of R25,000–R28,000 plus incentives.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years in a Workshop Foreman, Senior Technician, Team Leader or Assistant Workshop Controller role.
• Diagnostic skills and ability.
• Strong technical automotive knowledge and diagnostic ability.
• Proven ability to supervise and motivate a team of technicians.
• Excellent planning and organisational skills.
• Knowledge of workshop administration and job card processes.
• Ability to handle customer concerns professionally.
• Knowledge of workshop health and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day control and coordination of workshop activities.
• Allocate work to technicians and apprentices.
• Monitor repair quality and ensure standards are met.
• Maximise workshop productivity and labour utilisation.
• Record parts, materials and consumables for invoicing.
• Track job progress and efficient turnaround times.
• Coach and train technicians.
• Maintain safety, discipline and housekeeping.
• Oversee use and care of workshop equipment and tools.
• Liaise with customers and internal departments to resolve issues.
• Ensure repair orders and workshop documentation are complete.
• Manage supplier and sublet repair relationships.
