Qualifications

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Automotive Quality Assurance Engineer to join their dedicated team in Sandton, Gauteng, ZA . This role is essential for ensuring the highest standards of quality in all automotive components and systems developed and manufactured by the company. You will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive quality management strategies, conducting rigorous testing, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of automotive manufacturing processes, quality control methodologies, and relevant industry standards (e.g., IATF 16949). This is an on-site position where your expertise will directly contribute to the reliability and customer satisfaction of our client's vehicles. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance plans and procedures for automotive products.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits of manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Oversee and perform product testing and validation to identify defects and ensure product integrity.
• Analyze quality data, identify trends, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to address quality issues.
• Lead root cause analysis investigations for product failures and quality deviations.
• Ensure adherence to IATF 16949 standards and other relevant automotive quality certifications.
• Develop and deliver quality-related training to production and engineering staff.
• Manage supplier quality assurance activities and conduct supplier audits.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and process efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing) or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in quality assurance within the automotive industry.
• In-depth knowledge of quality management systems, particularly IATF 16949.
• Experience with quality tools such as FMEA, SPC, PPAP, and 8D.
• Proficiency in conducting audits (internal and supplier) and root cause analysis.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Experience with automotive testing equipment and procedures.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles is a plus.
