Placements24 is assisting a dynamic automotive component manufacturer in Benoni to find a Senior Automotive Quality Engineer. You will lead quality initiatives, ensure compliance with IATF 16949, and drive CAPA while collaborating with production, engineering, and purchasing teams.

The role requires 7+ years in automotive quality, strong analytical and leadership skills, and experience in supplier audits. You will mentor junior staff and push continuous improvement across products and processes

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 7 years in quality engineering within the automotive industry.
• In-depth knowledge of quality management systems, particularly IATF 16949.
• Proficient in quality tools (SPC, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, 8D).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
• Experience in conducting supplier audits and managing supplier quality.
• Eligibility to work in South Africa.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain quality control plans and procedures for automotive components.
• Conduct internal and external supplier quality audits to ensure compliance with standards and customer requirements.
• Analyze quality data, identify trends, and lead investigations into non-conformances.
• Implement and manage CAPA using 8D, 5 Whys.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and purchasing to address quality issues promptly.

About the Role

Our client, a dynamic automotive component manufacturer, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Automotive Quality Engineer to join their operations in Benoni . This role is critical in maintaining and improving the quality standards of automotive parts produced. You will be responsible for implementing and overseeing quality control processes, conducting audits, analyzing defect data, and driving corrective actions. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of quality management systems (e.g., IATF 16949) and a proven ability to resolve complex quality issues within the automotive supply chain. This is an excellent opportunity to lead quality initiatives and ensure product excellence in a key industrial hub within Gauteng .

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain quality control plans and procedures for automotive components.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in conducting supplier audits and managing supplier quality.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a manufacturing environment located in Benoni .
• Must be eligible to work in South Africa.
