Job summary

Placements24 seeks an experienced Senior Automotive Manufacturing Process Engineer to join a state-of-the-art production facility in Bloemfontein. You will lead process optimization, implement lean methods, and drive continuous improvement across manufacturing operations.

The role requires hands-on collaboration with production, quality, and engineering teams to ensure efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 6+ years in manufacturing engineering, automotive preferred.
• Experience with lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes for automotive components and assemblies.
• Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement.
• Implement lean manufacturing techniques (e.g., 5S, Kaizen, Six Sigma) to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
• Develop and maintain work instructions, standard operating procedures, and process documentation.
• Collaborate with quality engineers to address and resolve production-related quality issues.
• Evaluate and recommend new manufacturing technologies and equipment.
• Support new product introduction (NPI) by ensuring manufacturing readiness.
• Train production staff on new processes and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards.
