About the Role

Our client, a leading financial services provider, is looking for a proactive and experienced Senior Internal Auditor to join their audit team in Mahikeng, North West . This role is critical in assessing the adequacy and effectiveness of the organization's internal control systems, risk management processes, and governance structures. The Senior Internal Auditor will be responsible for planning and executing financial, operational, and compliance audits, identifying control weaknesses, and recommending practical solutions to enhance operational efficiency and mitigate risks. You will play a key role in ensuring the integrity and reliability of financial information and adherence to regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct internal audits of financial, operational, and IT processes in accordance with the annual audit plan.
• Assess the design and effectiveness of internal controls and identify potential risks and control deficiencies.
• Perform audit testing, gather evidence, and document audit findings.
• Prepare clear and concise audit reports detailing findings, risks, and recommendations.
• Follow up on the implementation of audit recommendations with management.
• Engage with stakeholders at various levels to understand business processes and risks.
• Stay current with auditing standards, best practices, and relevant regulations.
• Assist external auditors as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Auditing, Finance, or a related field. A professional qualification such as CIA, CA(SA), or CISA is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in internal audit, external audit, or a related assurance function.
• Strong understanding of internal control frameworks (e.g., COSO), risk management principles, and auditing standards.
• Proficiency in audit software and tools, as well as advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare comprehensive audit reports.
• Ability to manage multiple audit projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Experience working within the Mahikeng, North West business environment is beneficial.
