Placements24 is seeking an Asset Manager to oversee a diverse portfolio of energy infrastructure, including power plants and transmission lines, based in Sandton, Gauteng. The role focuses on long-term strategy, reliability, and profitability across the asset lifecycle.

You will lead maintenance programs, monitor performance, and drive capital planning while ensuring regulatory compliance and stakeholder engagement. A senior leader with finance and energy expertise is desired.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical), Finance, or MBA
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in asset management, operations, or financial management within Energy or infrastructure sectors
• Proven track record in developing and executing asset management strategies
• Strong understanding of financial principles, investment analysis, and risk management
• In-depth knowledge of the energy industry, including power generation, transmission, and distribution
• Experience with asset management software and systems
• Excellent leadership, strategic thinking, and communication skills
• Ability to influence and collaborate effectively with senior management and stakeholders
• AMP (Asset Management Professional) or equivalent is desirable
• Experience working in Sandton, Gauteng or similar environments is beneficial

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement asset management strategies for a diverse portfolio of energy assets.
• Oversee maintenance, repair, and upgrade programs for asset integrity and performance.
• Monitor asset performance against metrics and implement corrective actions.
• Conduct budgeting, forecasting, and life-cycle cost analyses to optimize profitability.
• Manage asset-related risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Oversee capex planning and investment appraisal for renewals and expansions.
• Ensure compliance with regulations, safety standards, and environmental policies.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders including regulators and investors.
• Lead and develop a team of asset management professionals.
• Stay updated on best practices and market trends in energy asset management.
