Job summary

Sedna.net in Cape Town seeks a Senior Application Engineer to design, develop, and optimize sophisticated applications that integrate advanced technologies. You will lead technical initiatives, ensure robust architectures, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

Senior engineers will drive key components in C#/.NET and C++, design scalable Web APIs, implement secure OAuth-based auth, and mentor junior staff while championing cybersecurity and performance

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Experience in senior/lead roles and modern SDLC practices.
• Proficiency with cloud platforms and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).

Responsibilities

• Architect and develop advanced applications using C# and .NET for scalability and performance.
• Lead implementation of high-performance components in C++.
• Design and optimize Web APIs for seamless integration.
• Implement AMQP-based messaging systems for distributed data exchange.
• Design and optimize PostgreSQL schemas and queries.
• Implement secure authentication/authorization with OAuth.
• Lead development for 3D systems including rendering and visualization.
• Champion cybersecurity best practices and secure coding.
• Utilize MATLAB for Pose Estimation or signal processing tasks.
• Mentor junior engineers, conduct code reviews, ensure coding standards.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements and drive delivery.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and propose innovations.
