Job summary

Being IT Solutions in Durbanville, Cape Town, is seeking an Intermediate to Senior .NET Developer to build high-quality software and own features from design through deployment.

You will mentor juniors, drive quality, participate in architecture discussions, and contribute to Azure DevOps driven workflows in an Agile team. Strong C#/.NET, SQL Server, REST APIs, and problem-solving are essential; we value collaboration and delivering scalable, reliable software.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years' experience developing software using C# and .NET.
• Strong experience with SQL Server, including query optimisation, indexing and stored procedures.
• Experience designing and developing REST APIs and backend services.
• Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming, SOLID principles and software design patterns.
• Experience working with Git and Azure DevOps (or similar CI/CD and version control tools).
• Experience troubleshooting and resolving production issues.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team.
• Experience mentoring or supporting junior developers would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain modern C#/.NET applications.
• Build scalable backend services and REST APIs.
• Design and optimise SQL Server databases, stored procedures and complex queries.
• Collaborate with product owners and stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Take ownership of features from design through deployment and ongoing support.
• Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to technical design decisions.
• Perform code reviews and help maintain high development standards.
• Mentor and support junior developers where required.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement robust long-term solutions.
• Write clean, maintainable, well-tested and well-documented code.
• Continuously improve system performance, scalability and reliability.
• Work within an Agile development environment using Azure DevOps.
