Job summary

Headhunters is seeking a senior Data Engineer/Analytics lead based in Gauteng to design scalable data models and automate analytics workflows. You will build robust data pipelines, ensure data quality and governance, and deliver high-performance datasets for BI reporting.

You will also mentor junior staff and collaboratively drive process improvement across cross-functional teams. The role requires 7+ years of experience, advanced SQL and Python, and solid automation expertise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field.
• Minimum 7+ years’ relevant experience.
• Advanced SQL expertise (non-negotiable).
• Advanced Python experience (non-negotiable).
• Strong automation experience using SQL, Python, Power Automate.
• Expert-level process management and process optimisation capability.
• Must be based in Gauteng.
• Experience leading a team.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable analytical data models.
• Build and optimise data transformation processes.
• Develop reusable and structured datasets for analytics and BI reporting.
• Implement robust data quality and governance controls.
